Too few pixels for the size you promised?
Find a supported smaller size without lowering your PPI target.
A concrete example
Open the free tool and choose See a size problem & fix it. The original is 1800 × 2400 pixels. Fit preserves it inside a 2:3 output of 1800 × 2700 pixels with white borders. A 12 × 18 inch print has 150 effective PPI, below the chosen 300 PPI target.
| Print promise | Effective PPI | Size result |
|---|---|---|
| 12 × 18 in | 150 | Blocked at 300 PPI |
| 6 × 9 in | 300 | Size supported |
| 4 × 6 in | 450 | Size supported |
Choose a promise the file can support
- Read the limit below the failed size check.
- Select a suggested smaller size, then explicitly replace the promised sizes.
- Review the composition and export. The PPI target and JPEG quality stay unchanged.
What about a set?
Suggested sizes must pass for every artwork. If one image is smaller, the other images cannot make up for it. You can replace that original, change the promised size or separate the product into different listings.
Missing ratio is a different problem
Use Match output formats to my promised sizes to generate the required shapes. Source-density checks still apply. No automatic enlargement can recover missing detail.
Keep the failed check, too
Download a size and review CSV report before export. It includes requested size, required pixels, effective PPI, current size limit and composition-review status. This is a diagnostic for the seller; it is not a buyer delivery or a print-quality certificate.
These figures come from the included sample and pixel arithmetic. They do not establish sharpness, color accuracy or a successful physical print. Inspect the image and request a print proof when needed.
